meet mister FUJI SAN

i climbed up mt. fuji in july. oh, what an experience. we left our dorms at around 4pm and ate a big meal before our big climb. we stopped by the combini to get some supplies. thinking i wasn't going to be too hungry, i only bought water, a box of chocolate cookies and a snickers bar. oh was i soo wrong. why did i not get those onigiris that would've made my stomach smile on that cold cold mountain. we took the bus to station 5 and that is where are adventure begins. we only had a few flashlights so i could barely see my path, but the stars gave us plenty of light. oh man was it amazing. the sky filled with specks of light took my breath away. too bad camera are not yet able to take a picture of what your eyes see. anyway, we started at 9:30pm and got up the mountain just in time to see the sun peek through the rolling hills in the distance. after 7 hours of hiking/climbing up the mountain we finally reached the top of mount fuji. it was breath taking and all the sweat, blood, and tears were worth it (the downhill part changed my mind though). the downhill was killer. in the middle japanese guys we met on the bus earlier told us we were going down a completely wrong path that would lead us to the opposite of the mountain where our bus was waiting for us. we all right then and there contemplated whether we should jump off the mountain. so, many stop breaks later we finally reached the bottom of the hill where we were so lucky to catch a bus that took us to our reserved bus back to tokyo. we were completely knocked out on the bus, but our exhaustion did not stop us from getting a good bowl of ramen. after a 12 hour trip, i finally got back to my dorm at 4pm to take a nice long shower.

japan has been a blur. four months passed by in a snap of a finger. it felt like a woke up from a really good dream and you when you wake up you just want to close your eyes and drift back into that world. i'm going to blog about my past four months in japan soon.. soon.. when i'm not a lazy ass. but in the meantime i still am and can't bring myself to sort out 3000 photos i have. man, i'm even too lazy to put them on facebook! and that only takes a few clicks of the mouse. anyway, japan was an amazing experience. you meet the most adventurous people, people who are willing to explore and let go of the responsibilities of adulthood for just a while. i recommend every to go on exchange!!

im back home and i miss japan like crazy
i never knew that going back to another asian city would still give me culture shock. i've only been in hk for two days and i have still more adjusting to do. no longer does everyone apologize when they accidently bump into you. no longer are people overly thankful for the purchase you just made. oh the differences. i always thought the over politeness of japan was extreme but now that i'm back in the land where everyone talks loud and doesn't really apologize for anything, i kind of miss that aspect of japan. now i have to stop bowing my head down when i buy something or bump into someone. back to aggressive chinese lady mentality. haha.
oh tokyo, how i miss you.

all good things come to an end

i am leaving the land of the rising sun in single digit days. i can't believe time has rocketed by so fast!

list of things i need to do in 8 days:
climb fuji-san
hiroshima
enoshima
more shopping
more exploring
more cafes

its overwhelming to think about the things i have to cram in 8 days. only if i could stop time for just a while.
